ELECTRONIC ADS:
The magazines are created on a Macintosh computer using Adobe InDesign. Supplemental files are created in Photoshop and Illustrator.
To submit an ad electronically use one of these programs, or submit the file completed as a JPG, TIF or EPS file.
PDF files are acceptable as long as fonts are embedded.
TEXT IN INDESIGN, ILLUSTRATOR FILES:
Only Adobe Type I fonts are acceptable. No PC fonts can be utilized. If your ad is submitted in Microsoft Word,
the fonts will not translate to the Mac. Please submit a hard copy of the ad if it is in Word so that the ad can
be replicated accurately.
IMAGES:
Photographs must be saved in the highest quality JPEG format, submitted directly from a digital camera
or as an original no larger than 8 1/2" x 11". Preferable images are clear, flat solid print. If you send a digital file,
make sure it is a large size and at least 300 dpi or the image may not print clearly. Ideally an image can be saved as
tif, jpg or eps file formats. If a file size is less than 100KB, there is a good chance that the resolution is too low for
good print quality. Art from a website usually is not acceptable for print. The resolution is much too low for a
good quality reproduction in print.
LOGOS:
Raised business cards do not reproduce well. Art from newsprint (including Yellow page ads)
is also not a great choice, but it is usable. We prefer ad slicks in color for color logos,
however we can work with most anything. Just beware that a bad original file will not improve with scanning.
DIGITAL FILES:
Please do not send PUBLISHER or WORDPERFECT files. We cannot open these files.
POWERPOINT files are also NOT ACCEPTABLE. If a file in Microsoft Word, keep in mind the fonts might look different so submit
a hard copy along with the electronic version.
